Dr. Holly Oliver, ND
Dr. Oliver is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND). She attended Aurora University and received a Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Health Science and minors in Christian studies, Chemistry and Psychology, before making her decision on which Medical School to attend. In the end, she chose to attend the National College of Naturopathic Medicine. She received her degree from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, OR, which is the oldest accredited naturopathic medical school in the United States. The ND degree from NCNM is a four-year post-graduate medical degree that includes both academic and clinical training. Dr. Oliver also has a certificate in Natural Childbirth from NCNM, and looks forward to completing her training as a naturopathic midwife. NCNM is accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME). The CNME is the only naturopathic accrediting body in the United States that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. She is currently licensed by both the State of Washington and State of Oregon.
Dr. Oliver began her journey as an employee at a natural health food store. She saw customers coming in daily for help with medical conditions. Nearly all of them were seeking help for issues their doctors couldn’t solve. They were unsuccessfully trying to treat themselves with over the counter medications or were looking for an option outside of the surgeries their doctors were recommending. Most of these customers were uninformed about their condition or what options were available to them. Now they were attempting to manage their own care without any guidance or without any training in natural medicine. They were mostly reading magazines they found at the gas station, watching “doctors” on TV, or reading articles from the internet and attempting to use the latest “trend” to solve their issues.
It was then that Dr. Oliver discontinued her pursuit of “traditional” medicine and began her studies at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM). She completed her Naturopathic Medicine degree and added to it a certificate in Natural Childbirth and Midwifery.
She currently practices as a primary care physician at Graceful Healing Naturopathic in Centralia, Washington. She believes healing comes not from a prescription bottle, but from the body itself.
When Dr. Oliver is not in office, you are likely to find her exploring the great northwest forests or the beautiful coastlines with her husband, two daughters and miniature dachshund.
