What to Expect
After you schedule your first appointment, you will be asked to fill out a new patient intake form. This form is a detailed health questionnaire that will enable Dr. Oliver to have some understanding of the reason for your visit and your personal health aspirations, and ultimately it will help her serve you and make your appointments more productive. You can pick one up from the office, have one sent to you in the mail, or you can download and print one from this page. Once you have completed the new patient intake form, you can drop it off at the office in advance, return it in the mail in advance, or bring it with you to your first visit.
1st Clinic Visit
Your first visit with Dr. Oliver will be approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours long. Dr. Oliver will have read the completed questionnaire and considered your needs and developed an idea of how she can best serve those needs and begin to construct a foundational treatment plan. After listening to your story, she will ask questions intended to clarify and fill in some gaps in her understanding of your case based on your completed questionnaire. Your visit will include the following:
- Discussion of your health concerns.
- Physical examinations.
- Laboratory testing and imaging will be ordered if necessary.
- Customized treatment plan will be discussed.
- Next visit scheduled.
2nd Clinic Visit
The second visit will be scheduled such that you have the time to understand and accomplish what has already been discussed as far as the treatment plan goes. This will also allow for lab tests or imaging to be reviewed by Dr. Oliver. During the second visit, Dr. Oliver will assess the efficacy of your plan and make any additions or changes to the plan. The second visit will include the following:
- Evaluation of your progress and the treatment plan’s efficacy since your 1st visit.
- Evaluation and discussion of lab tests or imaging if ordered.
- Treatment plan further individualized to better serve patient.
Follow-up Visits
Follow up visits are usually scheduled for every two to six weeks based on your health care needs and goals. Follow-up visits are to ensure that your health is improving as expected and to further individualize the treatment plan to better serve you as your health condition improves.
Wherever you are as far as your health goes, it is likely that it took many years to get there. It may take many years to regain what health has been lost. With patience and enthusiasm for improving your health, you will progress in your health journey. Most patients feel significantly better after only one visit, and feel progressively better with time.
